Tim Durham Photography Workshop
From the 5th-6th October, photographer Tim Durham taught a group of TY students about photography.
He began the first day showing cropped pictures of pictures he had taken. The importance of this was how pictures can be portrayed in many different ways; this was shown through the angles and colours he chose to take the picture of. After going through these pictures Tim showed the students how to work the digital camera which each student was supplied with. He showed how to change the focus and filters.
After the introduction of the digital camera each student was sent out around Balbriggan town to take a minimum of 80 pictures each. The next day began with going through everyone's pictures, followed with construction criticism the group mutually agreed with the top 3 pictures. The day finished with the art of long exposure photos and how cropping a picture can change it drastically.
Overall, the group found the workshop very interesting as it was very exciting and interactive. A big thank you to Tim Durnham for the very interesting experience!
The top pictures from each student can be seen upstairs at Gracefield House!
