Carla Rowe Visit
On Friday, November 10th, we were delighted to welcome Carla Rowe (a past pupil of Loreto Balbriggan) back to the school after captaining the Dublin ladies team to a victory in the All Ireland football championship.
We welcomed her into the school, lining the walls leading to the Gym and clapping, showing our admiration and respect for such a high-profile athlete. All 1st year students plus any GAA players in the school were free to attend Carla's talk. This was a great opportunity to be inspired for all of our budding sports stars.
All of the students were eager to hear how Carla got to the stage of becoming captain and leading her team to claim the All Ireland title. The students were full of questions asking about her past in sport and in the school, and were all so interested in listening to Carla’s responses and tips to dealing with things like stress and anxiety, plus her inputs on becoming a better player. Hopefully we'll have more Loreto Balbriggan athletes like Carla in the years to come!
