Sign Language 2020

4G have been taking part in sign language with Ms. Ryan as one their first modules.

So far they have completed nine classes in total. They partake in a double class on Tuesdays and a single on Fridays. They began with the alphabet but have since moved onto names, numbers, holidays and common phrases such as “What is your name?” and “How are you?”.

Recently they have moved on to signing songs. Currently they are practising the song “Sky Full Of Stars” by Coldplay.

They have also been learning about how deaf people and blind people live their lives, through watching documentaries and interviews. One such person is Molly Burke, a 26 year old a blind YouTuber, who shares stories about her life and personal struggles.

They will continue to learn sign language over the coming weeks until November 13th when all fourth year classes will switch to their new modules.
