Market Day 2019

MARKET DAY 2019

On Friday the 13th December, the annual Market Day was held once again in the school gym. Mini Companies from 1st, 2nd, and 4th year were given their big opportunity to showcase and sell the products that they had been working on for the past 3 months. There was a broad range of high-quality goods on display during both lunch times and everything from study planners and pasta straws to scented scrunchies and seashell bracelets awaited bargain hunting students looking for last minute deals ahead of the Christmas rush.

The Market Day experience was educational too and a guest speaker appeared on the day to talk to the girls about the reality of entrepreneurship in the business world. Afterwards, he visited individual stalls and spoke to the girls about their respective products. He offered them advice on their product and how to further improve goods and services so they could become even more successful. Later, the judges came around to each of the stalls and asked the girls a series of questions ranging from the cost of production to the girls’ opinions on the whole process of carrying out their mini company. Thankfully, the responses from the judges were very positive and it seems most people really enjoyed receiving constructive feedback in their ongoing attempt to increase profit margins. Overall, a great day was experienced by all and we are already looking forward to planning next year's products!
