TY Criminal Courts Visit

On the 22nd and 24th of October, two Groups of Transition Year Legal Studies Students spent the day in the Criminal Courts in Dublin to see the court system in real life.

During this trip, we all participated in a mock trial inside a real courtroom!  This gave an insight into what it is like to be a witness, barrister, solicitor and how the court is organised.

We were also given permission to observe certain trials that were actually taking place in the  District Courts. It was very interesting to watch a real trial in progress and see all the things we learned in class in real life.

                                                            

Overall, it was a tremendous experience for everyone and definitely worthwhile to see how our legal system works. If you are given the chance to go on this trip we highly recommend you do.
